In challenging times, southerners know empty words and wishes pale in comparison to meaningful action. In this collection of 8 short films, we encounter individuals in devastating cycles of environmental destruction, broken family dynamics, and oppressive systems which they meet with not only resilience, but active, compassionate resistance. With this block we hope to inspire our audience to do more than just keep holding on–even when it feels like all you can do is wait, keep holding hope, keep holding each other, and keep holding others accountable.
Filmmakers from the films will participate in a Q&A after the films.
Tickets are now sold out for all film blocks, but tickets may become available due to rescheduling. Check our ticketing page to see if tickets are available. Additionally, there will be a standby line for each event. 10 minutes before showtime, we will open sales to the standby line to fill any remaining seats in the theater. The standby line does not guarantee a ticket, and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
