It’s 2019 — a year before the pandemic — and The Paperhand Puppet Intervention is set to begin its 20th season. The acclaimed theater troupe is on a mission to save the world from environmental destruction, and they believe art is our best hope.

In the new documentary We Are Here, viewers are immersed in the frenetic pace and demanding work requirements of Paperhand's directors and fellow artists. The film takes viewers on a creative journey and dives into the psyches of the company’s founders, Donovan Zimmerman and Jan Burger. Ultimately, We Are Here reveals the power of art and challenges us to imagine — and to create — a better world.

Filmmaker Marc Levy, along with Paperhand founders Donovan Zimmerman and Jan Burger, will participate in a Q&A immediately following the screening.
